Bonanza
It's not every day that there's an entire television series that ran for 14 seasons and had 431 episodes which is supposed to be set in both the exact time and place where your ancestor lived.
This is the case with Bonanza, and many, many of these episodes are free to view on YouTube. I've discovered that it's actually a really enjoyable show to watch...if you can get past some of the anachronisms.
Actually, to be honest, I think there is some value in watching this interpretation of the setting and characters (although they are all mostly fictional) which were created 100 years after the fact. I mean, 100 years is closer than we are now, at 150 years. It's interesting to see how people of my grandparents' generation would have viewed the people of my 4th great grandparents' generation.
But I have to deal with those anachronisms somehow, and so that is why I'm turning to writing!
Season One
Episode 1: A Rose for a Lotta Anachronisms
Episode 2
Episode 3
Episode 4
